Migraine is good for the memory

Came across this interesting article in August's edition of Reader's Digest.

MIGRAINE IS GOOD FOR THE MEMORY

People with migraine suffer less memory loss over time than the unafflicted. Researchers from John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that while migraineurs scored low on memory tests at the start of their studies, they showed 17% less cognitive decline than non-migraineurs 12 yrs later.

"Migraine medications such as ibuprofen, which might have a protective effect on memory, might be partially responsible," says Dr Amanda Kalaydjian of the surprise findings. "But it seems more likely that there may be an underlying biological mechanism, such as changes in blood vessels or differences in brain activitiy."

Hmmm...maybe that explains my good memory
