Sick and tired, mentally and physically

Back after a week attending the Finance & Operations Conference in Hong Kong. Am very drained, both mentally and physically. To make matters worse, I had to go back to office today to clear tons of work before I get totally buried under the monthly, quarterly closing as well as the budget consolidation over the next few weeks. And my final semester is supposed to commence in a couple of weeks' time, now I don't even know how to plan my time. Basically July is gone for me. Boo. What a way to celebrate my 28th birthday. -.-

Travelling together with different people is always rewarding because I get to see the other side of them and get to know them better as a person. Or at least that was what I had in mind before this trip. I ended up getting to know A LOT MORE about certain things and people than what I had expected. And it doesn't feel good knowing all those stuff. No, not at all. In fact it makes me feel sick. Very sick. So sick that I feel like walking away from a lot of things right now. There's a serious need to lighten the weight on my shoulders.

No doubt my career prospects do look bright at this particular juncture, I still feel that I might just throw the damn letter one day if the situation doesn't improve. I guess friends and family will always come ahead of career. Call me unambitious if you like, but that's my principles in life.

Plan plan plan

Yup, exam is finally over. Now I can watch Euro 2008 in peace. Heh.

Quite a fair bit of things to plan for in the next couple of weeks - wedding stuff, next semester of studies, zaipei with TK, work schedule for the coming quarterly close, and of course the Hong Kong trip for the Finance workshop from 23-28 June (tentative). Might have to be there earlier. Will see how it goes when I get back to office tomorrow.

Proverbs 16:9 "In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps"

Something to remind myself.

Random update

Aggravated my back injury while warming up for a 5km run just now. So painful that I can even bend down to wear my shorts properly. Can't even toss and turn in bed. Its really bad.

Trying to get myself to study right now, but obviously I can't, else won't be blogging here instead. Have not been very efficient for the past couple of days. Brain doesn't seem to be functioning very well, probably cos most of my available brain cells were killed at work. Doesn't seem like I have a choice though - 5 more chapters to cover before my paper on the 11th. Endure endure!

And the latest update of our appplication for the Punggol Sapphire BTO exercise:

Deadline for application is tonight. The 4-room is what we're aiming for. Hope all goes well this time.
